Priority Personnel is seeking a Credit Assistant/Accounts Receivable Analyst for a building supply company located in San Marcos, TX.

Pay rate: $18/hour

Work Schedule: Mon-Fri/8am-5pm

Job Duties:

  • Processes, builds and maintains files for the credit application process for commercial credit customers to include all pertinent and required information for evaluation through the Content Manager system and the Get Paid system
  • Tracks store credit applications at various stages of processing at Headquarters. Provides reports on credit application activity as requested and required
  • Assists in the application process for credit line increases, authorized buyer changes, and additions or elections
  • Ensures quality customer service and assistance to company customers. Requires constant contact/communication with company personnel and the general public or professional customer that will involve tact and discretion
  • Assists retail store personnel with customer mailings, blitz advertising campaigns, and other related “target customer” activities
  • Maintains up-to-date, accurate and complete files on customers and general files as required for Commercial Sales reports and correspondence
  • Assists with special projects as directed by supervisor or manager
  • Follows Standard Operating Procedures while carrying out the responsibilities of position
  • Reconciles invoices accurately and reviews statement problems with strategic customers; to include: pricing issues, tax refunds, government account set-up, credit memos, return confirmations, product issues, and Purchase Order discrepancies.
  • Attends and participates in all team meetings and company-sponsored programs as required


  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or on to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees or managers within the organization
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply simple conversion formulas
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Ability to utilize strong multi-tasking, organizational, prioritization, and follow-up skills necessary for managing multiple accounts at one time in a professional manner and under minimal supervision
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Word & Excel, IBM Content Manager, Lawson, and other 3rd party software applications at an intermediate level
  • Knowledge and understanding of basic accounting principles  
  • Prior experience working in the retail industry, specifically operating cash registers, is preferred
